CP Violation in Top Physics at the NLC

    Get PDF
Top quark is extremely sensitive to non-standard CP violating phases. General strategies for exposing different types of phases at the NLC are outlined. SUSY phase(s) cause PRA in tWbt\to Wb. The transverse polarization of the τ\tau in the reaction tbτνt\to b\tau\nu is extremely sensitive to a phase from the charged Higgs sector. Phase(s) from the neutral Higgs sector cause appreciable dipole moment effects and lead to sizable asymmetries in e+ettˉH0e^+e^-\to t\bar tH^0 and e+ettˉνeνˉee^+e^-\to t\bar t\nu_e\bar\nu_e.}]Comment: 4 pages, Latex, 2 figures. Pathways to Rare Baryonic B Decays

    Get PDF
We point out new ways to search for charmless baryonic B decays: baryon pair production in association with η\eta^\prime is very likely as large as or even a bit larger than two body Kπ/ππK\pi/\pi\pi modes. We extend our argument, in weaker form, to Bγ+XsB\to \gamma + X_s and ν+X\ell\nu +X. Although calculations are not reliable, estimates give branching ratios of order 10510^{-5}--10610^{-6}, where confidence is gained from recent experimental finding that BDpnˉB \to D^{*} p \bar n, DppˉπD^{*} p \bar p \pi are not far below DπD^*\pi and DρD^*\rho rates. Observation of charmless baryon modes would help clarify the dynamics of weak decays to baryonic final states, while the self-analyzing prowess of the Λ\Lambda-baryon can be helpful in CP- and T-violation studies.Comment: 12 pages, REVTEX, 3 eps figures include

Repairing an Implant Titanium Milled Framework using Laser Welding Technology: A Clinical Report

    Get PDF
The application of laser welding technology allows titanium to be welded predictably and precisely to achieve accurate fit of a milled framework. Laser energy results in localized heat production, thereby reducing thermal expansion. Unlike soldering, laser energy can be directed to a small area, making it possible to laser weld close to acrylic resin or ceramic. This article describes the use of laser welding to repair an implant titanium milled fixed denture. A quick, cost-effective, accurate repair was accomplished, and the repaired framework possessed adequate strength and the same precise fit as the original framework

A Technique for Duplicating a Fixed Complete Denture

    Get PDF
The fixed implant prosthesis often requires repair due to fracture and/or wear of acrylic resin teeth. Repair of such a prosthesis, although simple, requires retaining the prosthesis to be revised in the laboratory. In order to reveneer the implant prosthesis, a provisional restoration should be fabricated for the patient that provides similar function and esthetics. This article presents a technique for duplicating the existing fixed implant-supported prosthesis prior to repair/reveneer, thus providing a smooth transition from the provisional to the definitive prosthesis
